4- Get engaged....................
Well, I'M ENGAGED!!!!!!!!
I got engaged right as it turned 2010. So I'd say 2010 is starting out to be an AMAZING year!!
I knew the proposal was coming soon-ish. But he totally had me fooled it wouldn't be for another month or two! He kept saying things like he didn't have it ordered yet and it takes a couple weeks to come in, and "don't get your hopes up" to get engaged before January. Also, he has an old engagement ring I thought he was going to trade in to help pay for mine. Well, I knew where he kept those rings and I would check daily to see if they were gone. They never left! (turns out, he is going to sell them to someone at work instead of trading it in because he will get more for it.)
So anyway, on New Years Eve we went out to dinner at Macaroni Grill. It was a pretty good time. I had some yummy drinks and lobster ravioli. We laughed a lot and talked about how 2009 was a good year for us. Then we didn't want to deal with crazy cover charges and trying to deal with finding a cab so we decided to just go home. I started to feel sick and took a nap on the couch while he played guitar hero. (which ruined part of his plan for a romantic fun night drinking champagne! Haha) I woke up around 11, 11:30 and had a glass of champagne. He insisted we find a channel that would show the ball dropping. (Which was a little weird, but I didn't suspect anything.) Once there was like a minute left he pulled me up and gave me a hug and said he loved me. He turned me around so he was standing behind me with his arms wrapped around me and we were both counting down the last 10 seconds...once it hit midnight I turned around to get my kiss and he was down on one knee with the ring!!!!!!!!!! I grabbed the ring and said, "REALLY?! Are you serious?! For REAL?!" Haha! And he said, "You didn't even let me propose!" :) Oops! So I gave him back the ring and started crying. He said he loved me very much and barely chocked out "will you marry me?" because he started to cry too. I said yes (of course!) and now, I'M ENGAGED!!! Wow. It's just barely starting to sink in, it doesn't feel real yet!
On New Years Day we were supposed to meet with my family for my grandma's birthday/Christmas round 2. So early in the morning I ran to Target & the dollar store and put together a travel box for everyone in my family. It had mini shampoo, travel toothbrush, sun screen, sea shells, sun glasses, and a map of Jamaica, etc. I had them all open them at the same time and when they were confused I shouted "We're engaged!" and it started to click. :) Everyone was very happy, which was nice. :) My little sister cried her eyes out because she was so happy. (which is why I'm so glad he planned it so I could tell everyone in person.)
The ring is beautiful. I absolutely love it!
